Hi all! Well, some updates to the forum to restore our good looks happened today! They went swimmingly and we are now updated to phpBB 3.0.1 AND we have our pretty black and red color scheme back with some yellow in there just to liven it up a bit! So enjoy and happy posting!
January 19th, 2008...Major forum update issues
Well, the forum has been updated to new software but unfortunately, the configuration backup was corrupted and all the database info was lost. I can recover it but that would mean going back to the old forum. I'd still have to upgrade the software to solve some security issues we have been having. If it wasn't the database being corrupted it would be easier to recover from. I will get the forum skins back to what they used to be but the posts are irrecoverable and for that I apologize. Also, I cannot import the user tables from the database because the field policies in the old database conflict with the new database policies. So everyone will have to reregister.
I apologize for the issues but honestly, even though I tried to prevent it, the worst possible thing that could have gone wrong did. I will get the forums back up to useable state as soon as possible. Again, my apologies, sometimes things just don't go well and force us to work extra hard to get what we want.
On a side note, the new software is very secure and it will be easier to use and should run faster. It will also require less maintenance by me because it is not as suceptible to spammer abuse. Keep watching here for updates. As things progress, I will update the main page. The forum links are the same so you can check there too.
